Shiatsu + Yin
90 minute session

Friday 29th November at 7.30pm with Sarah Mackie

A 90 minute Yin Yoga class combining restorative Yin Yoga postures with Shiatsu touch (acupressure points, holding and massage) - for a deeply restful experience.

Yin postures are held for 4-5 minutes. Shiatsu Therapists from Studio Shiatsu will move around the room, and while resting in the posture you will receive some Shiatsu bodywork to deepen and support the stretch.

The combination of slow stretches and the calming touch of Shiatsu offers a space for deep relaxation; improving circulation and inviting awareness to the whole body.

About Sarah Mackie

With a lifelong yoga practice and a decade of teaching, Sarah brings a blend of experience and passion to her classes. Certified in Purna Yoga (RYT 500hrs) and trained in a variety of disciplines, including Embodied Yin Yoga, Myofascial Release, Shiatsu and Qigong, Sarah weaves together ancient wisdom and modern insights to create a holistic experience.

Inspired by nature, the seasons, and the cosmos, Sarah’s classes blend asana with meditation, breath work, and philosophical themes. Her approach is slow and steady, designed to make yoga accessible to everyone, with options for personalising the practice to fit individual needs.

In particular her studies of Shiatsu & Traditional Chinese Medicine have enriched her exploration of yin yoga, and loves weaving these two practices together in her shiatsu yin workshops.

Yin Yoga and Gong Sound Bath

With alignment as the theme of this class we will explore a specially designed sequence of yin yoga postures to work with our bodies main energy centres (the chakras), supported by the sound of the gong. This is followed by a long Gong sound bath and sacred rest. This is a deeply relaxing experience.

About Gong Goddess Magdalena

Magdalena a dedicated Gong Master, sound therapist, and Kundalini Yoga teacher. She guides individuals in transformative experiences that foster a deep sense of connection and inner peace. Her teachings and philosophy centers around the belief that we are all interconnected, part of a grand design that invites us to live in a light-filled state of bliss, free from anxiety, addiction, and self-doubt.

A transformative journey through the frequencies of sound. During a Sound Immersion, you'll relax and meditate as you absorb the healing vibrations of drums, gongs, crystal singing bowls, and more. This immersive experience allows the sound waves to penetrate every cell in your body, creating profound shifts that touch your mind, body, and spirit.

Schedule

Doors open at 7.15pm and beginning promptly at 7:30pm. Please arrive at least 5 mins prior, to set up your space and settle in. Doors are locked on time and we cannot accommodate late arrivals once the event has started.

What to bring 

Yoga mats, bolster pillows and blankets provided. Dress comfortably and with enough layers to keep you warm. You’re welcome to bring extra blankets, eye pillows and cushions to enhance your experience.

What to Expect

Begin with intention setting and a guided meditation to ease into the experience. Then, simply breathe and relax as the healing vibrations work their magic, releasing stress, tension, and negative energy. The session concludes with a closing circle over tea, allowing you to share your experience and insights with others.

About Ange

Ange’s journey into sound healing began after suffering from an unknown Chronic illness that left me feeling as though my body was shutting down. Despite numerous doctor visits, Ange’s condition remained a mystery which resulted in deep depression.

Confined to his home, unable to stand for long periods and in constant pain, he found solace in holistic healing practices, particularly Sound Healing. His first session was transformative, lifting the burden of pain and mental fog. This sparked an insatiable curiosity, leading him to study sound therapy and witness its profound impact on both body and mind.

Today, he is a practitioner and testament to the transformative power of sound therapy. 

 

Yin + Pin with Victoria and Michelle

Combining all the benefits of Yin Yoga and Acupuncture. This is a deeply restful Yin yoga experience inspired by the season of renewal, growth and the equinox. This session is a must for anyone feeling the fatigue and stagnation of Winter.

The yin session aims to provide balance, harmony and connection into our lives. The evening will end with a long guided savasana, where our acupuncturist will place needles around the body to nurture growth, healing and renewal.

What is Acupuncture 

Acupuncture is a procedure where fine needles are inserted into the skin strategically targeting energy points through the body. These points harmonise with the body’s energy pathways facilitating the body’s natural healing mechanisms to allow the body to come back into a balance states both physically and mentally.

Benefits of Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment with its roots in Traditional Chinese medicine offers a holistic approach to health and well being. Pain management, stress reduction, anxiety relief, sleep issues, fertility are some of its known benefits.

About our Acupuncturist Michelle

Michelle is a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. Michelle has studied and practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine in California, various parts of Asia and now Melbourne. Growing up in a Chinese household and having lived in Asia for 6 years has informed much of her passion for Chinese Medicine, which incorporates both traditional and modern knowledge. Michelle’s aim is to practice with warmth and attention, and approach healing from an integrative perspective. This includes encouraging the body’s systems to heal itself, while also incorporating movement, meals, and lifestyle habits into her treatment plans.

 

Flo with your Little One - Fridays at 10am

Join us for our next term of Flo with your little One, tailored to new parents who are seeking to rekindle their yoga practice while embracing the joy of having their little one by their side.

Whether you’re just beginning your yoga journey or striving to maintain it, each week presents an opportunity to rejuvenate your mind and body, while connecting with like-minded parents who share your journey.

Mamas, make sure you have doctor’s clearance before attending. You will be supported with ways to modify your practice post birth.

This series requires no prior yoga experience. We extend a warm welcome to all parents, embracing little ones from newborn to preschool age.

Bring along a cozy blanket and a selection of captivating toys to amuse your little one. We’ll provide scarves and shakers that will entertain your little one, ensuring they remain entranced by your every move.

The Flo with your Little one series can be purchased by term. Sessions are guided by fabulous mama and facilitator @yogawithjuliarose who has two little ones of her own. We can’t wait to Flo alongside you and your little one.

*Note that due to the size of limits of our space, please avoid using a pram. Please carry your littles ones in.
